"There is nothing as hard as trying to stop an idea whose time has come. Companion Flag is such an idea. It has since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sit back and let things happen to them. They go out and happen to things. This is what we intend to do with Companion Flag!"

"Thanks to the support and participation of my colleagues, both schools where I work soon adopted Companion Flags during 2003! Even parents are getting excited about this idea and offering to deliver Companion Flags to other parts of the world during their summer vacations. Stephen Sealey, a scholar-athlete, researched the Companion Flag then introduced it to his classmates at the Federal Way Public Academy, Federal Way, Washington.

"I feel that so many times we as human beings forget or even never realize how much we all have in common with each other. Differences seem to shadow and blanket those similarities and how we as humans recognize them. A flag waving in the air is the perfect reminder of those similarities, because a flag will always stay in one place no matter what circumstance you and others are in."

Cindy Wheeler and her children will deliver a new French flag and Companion Flag to an elementary school while visiting family in Callian, France (August 2003). "The Companion Flag Project is more than symbolic in nature, it speaks of a very specific connection that needs to be acknowledged and reinforced in many different ways. The Companion Flag Project helps us remember that and act from that awareness."

Se entusiasmaron con la oportunidad de poder explorar sus pensamientos tanto como sus sentimientos y de darse cuenta de que ellos tambien pueden contribuir al mundo de manera positiva."

"The concept of the Companion Flag gave my students the opportunity to see that around the world there is a common ground which they share with all peoples. I am proud to fly the Companion Flag outside our church because it honors all nations."

"The Companion Flag makes a very important statement that is both timeless and relevant. Mankind needs to realize that beneath our apparent differences we are all one. The more Companion Flags soar in our skies the closer we will be to peace. It is my deepest desire that the Companion Flag and what it stands for will be embraced by all families, communities and nations in the world."

Gail and Bill Valenti are ardent supporters of the Companion Flag, and they prominently display it at their home in Seattle. Bill is a founding member of the CFSI Board of Directors.

"Symbols are powerful catalysts for human behavior. The Companion Flag is a compelling and desperately needed symbol of the common aspirations of all human beings. We are honored to act as ambassadors in propagating this important symbol."

proudly at home and feature the nameplates on my car. I also
tell the story of the Companion Flag within my community and the world as I travel. It is just a matter of time before the spirit of the Companion Flag will be readily received everywhere, as our world becomes smaller and hopefully more compassionate."

Jenny Cummins has mounted a US and Companion Flag on her deck, and the reactions of passers-by have surprised her.

“When I first heard about the Companion Flag, I didn’t think it would make much of a difference. However, since hanging the flags, many people have stopped to ask me about the Companion Flag. Each time I explain, the asker is very impressed. I'm reminded that just one little pebble thrown in the water creates a wider and wider circle. Don’t be the last person to stand up for peace in our world. Be one of the first.”

Anatoly Ionesov, Director
International Museum of Peace and Solidarity
Samarkand, Uzbekistan

"I'm happy to be associated with the Companion Flag project which, I believe, is one more wonderful tool to show and promote the unity of the humankind and the need of global solidarity. Mario Stoltz
Germany

"I learned about the Companion Flag by pure coincidence while searching the web. The idea of turning elements of separation into elements of unification thrilled me. Many people in my country have a more reserved relationship to flags than, for example, people in the US. However, the goal of adopting the Companion Flag globally can bring the world forward."

Anita Lenges' amazing joie de vivre and enthusiasm for the Companion Flag have combined to make learning about the Companion Flag an unforgettable experience! Anita is a university instructor and member of the CFSI Educators Advisory Board.

"I work with teachers to explore the relationship between culture and
mathematics. While talking about cultural diversity and the need for
mathematical diversity, I also share about the universals of mathematics and people. The mathematical universals are not what people typically think of as school mathematics. All cultural groups develop mathematical tools and processes that are integrative aspects of their cultural practices. So along with all people needing food, love, safety, ..., they also develop mathematical practices. Funny, huh? While working with teachers from Indonesia, I gave them all lapel pins and Companion Flag cards to take back with them to remind them of our friendship and unity. Perhaps we need another language represented on the CF website for Bahasa Indonesia!"

Tijana Timotijevic

"As humans, we truly are alike in many ways, regardless of what language we speak, or whether we come from a city of 600,000 or 23,000,000.
