Located in the hills east of Lake Washington, and south of the bustling city of Bellevue, Washington, Newport Heights Elementary is the first elementary school in the Bellevue School District to adopt the Companion Flag!

The Companion Flag is on permanent display with the US flag at the entrance to the school, as well as in the gymnasium.

In June, the students of Newport Heights hosted Companion Flag Ambassadors Jennifer and Winston Yeung in an all-school assembly, giving them a warm and rousing send-off on their around-the-world adventure. They wrote letters of greeting and goodwill for the Yeungs to deliver to other children in other countries! This year (2003-4), the students will be following the Yeungs' progress over the Internet, and learning about the countries (and the schools!) they will visit.
