French School Board Approves CF Display

More evidence that Companion Flag Ambassadors make all the difference!

Cindy Wheeler first learned about the Companion Flag from her children when their school, Sawyer Woods Elementary School in Kent, Washington USA, first began to consider its adoption. Her children were so excited about the new symbol that they wanted to share it with their friends in Callian, France.

In August 2003, Cindy and her children traveled to Callian. They took with them a 4' x 6' French flag and a 4' x 6' Companion Flag, intent on presenting both as a gift to the local elementary school. School was closed at the time, but Cindy's long-time friend Marie José
promised to take up the children's cause when school started again in the fall. In September, 2003, Marie José introduced the Companion Flag and its underlying vision to the Callian School Board. The board heartily endorsed the idea and authorized the elementary school to fly the Companion Flag!
