11 Uzbek Schools Adopt CF in Pilot Project

A five-week pilot project in the spring of 2004 to (i) introduce the Companion Flag at selected schools in Uzbekistan's three largest population centers, and (ii) document student and faculty feedback on a proposed nationwide Companion Flag project, was a tremendous success -- with 11 out of 12 schools visited adopting the Companion Flag on the spot!

Over 98% of survey respondents expressed the hope that Uzbekistan would be seen as the world's leader in the introduction and adoption of the Companion Flag. CFSI is preparing a formal proposal to the Republic of Uzbekistan for a joint venture aimed at the introduction and adoption of the Companion Flag in all Uzbek public schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, institutes and universities.

The success of the pilot project was due in large part to the dedication of the CFSI Educators Advisory Group, in Seattle, and the tireless work of CFSI Central Asia Project Director Gayana Gazaryan. Ms. Gazaryan travelled throughout Uzbekistan, presenting the Companion Flag idea at each of the 12 pilot project schools.
